CyberGhost

cyberghost vpn reviewThis CyberGhost review is based on price, features, reliability, speed and customer service. The purpose of VPN Rankings is to help people find the best VPN that fits their needs by allowing people to share real-life experiences and opinions, good or bad, about VPNs they use or have used.

CyberGhost has a strong commitment to privacy and transparency and is a great choice for people wanting to try a VPN for the first time. They have 550+ servers in 30+ countries.

Visit CyberGhost

One of the most appealing things about CyberGhost is its free version which is available for Windows, Mac and Android. Then they have a premium plan that is $5.83/month and a premium plus plan for $9.16/month. They accept all major credit cards, paypal and Bitcoin and offer a 30 day money back guarantee for annual subscribers and a 14 day money back guarantee for monthly subscribers.

They offer 256-bit AES encryption over OpenVPN and L2TP and PPTP are available as well. They do not keep any logs of user activities and they even go one step further to grant randomly generated anonymous user IDs for their premium payment process.

CyberGhost is easy to use, well supported, and dedicated to the privacy and anonymity of their users. The only major downside is they do not support P2P file sharing. However, being able to access a significant chunk of their service for free is incredibly generous, with the Premium service feeling like a worthwhile upgrade rather than something forced upon free users and the 30 day money-back guarantee is the icing on the cake.

I’d recommend steering clear of Cyberghost for now until they get their act together. I’ve been using Cyberghost for a year and not once has it managed to connect the first attempt – Every time I’ve started my computer for the last year I’ve had to manually close and open Cyberghost just to get it to work, their interface is buggy, flawed in design and unreliable at best.

On the phone it is not much better, requiring you to download the interface every time you want to connect because their app is basically just a pointer to a web interface.

All in all, I feel that Cyberghost needs to hire some better programmers and ditch the web interface for something native to the computer before it is worth using, right now it is basically the source of all of my computer frustrations for the past year. And yes, I’ve tried their FAQ, and all the suggestions on the help page.. It’s just buggy software.
